We work with homeowners who want more than a quick refresh. So we start with the planning: a strong layout and a clear design direction, settled before construction begins.

What does House of Maevie do?
House of Maevie is a full-service interior design studio serving Raleigh, Cary, Apex, Durham, Chapel Hill and the rest of the Triangle. We design renovations, new construction homes and complete furnishings, and we bring the creative direction and the technical work together in one studio: layouts, drawings, renderings and selections, through to installation.
What is it like to work with House of Maevie?
Working with House of Maevie begins with listening: how you live, what is not working, and what you want your home to feel like. From there we take care of the drawings, the selections and the coordination with your builder and trades, and we stay closely involved from the first concept through installation. You always know what comes next.
What will my home feel like when it is finished?
A home designed by House of Maevie should feel like it could only belong to you. We design warm, layered rooms where comfort comes first, with character rather than trends. They make everyday life easier, and they still feel special years from now.
What if I feel overwhelmed by all the decisions in a renovation?
That feeling is common at the start of a renovation, and guiding you through it is a large part of what an interior designer does. We take the decisions in the right order and walk you through each one, so you are never making an important choice in a hurry. One client told us it even made the renovation process feel fun.
How will I know I love the design before anything is built?
You see it first. House of Maevie builds a detailed 3D model of your rooms for every project, with renderings, so you can judge the layout, the materials and the details before construction begins or anything is ordered. Changes are easy while they are still on paper.

Stop Buying Furniture. Start Designing a Room

Susanne was (is!) a lifesaver for us. We had been struggling with some difficult spaces in our funky old house for years and had trouble imaging or designing what we wanted. She came in and helped us design a custom entryway closet as well as window seats and we are so pleased. She is now helping use redesign a bedroom and office including builtins and wainscotting. Susanne is responsive, creative, skilled at design and computer renderings, and follows through. We are so pleased and can’t wait to see what’s next!
