Hi my name is Susanne
Welcome to House of Maevie !
Interior design has always been a passion of mine, but it wasn’t until my early 30s that I transformed it into a career. Growing up in Europe, I was surrounded by a rich tapestry of history, timeless architecture, and interiors filled with soul. From centuries-old cobblestone streets to homes layered with natural textures and vintage charm, these experiences deeply influenced my design aesthetic.
After earning a BA in Art History from Portland State University and a BA in Interior Design from Marylhurst University, I spent seven years in Portland, Oregon, working in high-end residential interior design and commercial architecture. In 2021, my family and I relocated to sunny Raleigh, North Carolina, and I launched House of Maevie—a studio named after my beloved cat, Maevie.
At House of Maevie, my priority is creating spaces that are not only beautiful but also functional and timeless. Inspired by my European roots, I specialize in crafting interiors that feel collected, warm, and balanced. I love incorporating natural materials, soft lighting, vintage accents, and colorful textiles to bring a sense of harmony and lived-in comfort to every project.
I believe a home should be a sanctuary—a space that reflects your personality and supports your lifestyle. Whether it’s a single room or an entire home, my goal is to design spaces that you’ll love coming home to for years to come.
Cheers,
