This North Raleigh colonial had great bones, but an outdated layout and architectural details that no longer reflected the way our clients lived. By strategically optimizing the floorplan and opening the kitchen to the adjacent living spaces, we created a home that feels brighter, more connected, and more modern while still honoring the character of the original home. The kitchen was redesigned around a custom metal hood as its focal point, while a large island became the true heart of the home — designed for gathering, everyday living, and connection. Layered built-ins and thoughtful architectural details throughout bring warmth, function, and a timeless feel personal to this family.
