Can anything be done about noise through a shared wall?

Quite a lot, and most of it is design rather than construction. Where the bedrooms sit relative to the party wall matters most, and that’s sometimes solvable by changing which room does what.

Beyond that, full-height built-in storage against a shared wall is the most useful single move, because it adds mass exactly where you need it. It also gives you storage you were short of anyway. Soft finishes in the right rooms do the rest.
