The kitchen in this traditional home was nearly 30 years old and beginning to come apart. Our clients wanted an updated space with better storage and room to entertain, but they also wanted it to feel charming and connected to the rest of the house. We stayed within the existing footprint and focused on thoughtful changes that would make the kitchen feel custom rather than builder-grade. Warm cream cabinetry, a sage island, brass fixtures, and a beadboard-backed shelving niche bring character through smaller, carefully considered details. Their love of travel also gave us room for a more romantic moment in the powder room, where Swedish botanical wallpaper and an antique gilt mirror create the feeling of something collected over time. Nothing is oversized or showy. It is simply a more beautiful, personal, and useful version of the home they already loved.
